We’re excited to have Monique Worrell join us on this month’s Assembly, coming on the heels of her primary victory this month for State Attorney in Orange and Osceola County in Florida. We'll learn more about how she plans to use her office to reform our criminal justice system and help end mass incarceration.
We’re also excited to hear from Desmond Meade, a formerly homeless returning citizen who was recognized as one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2019 for his leadership in restoring voting rights to over 1.4 million Floridians with past felony convictions.
Desmond serves as the Executive Director of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, and played a prominent role in helping Monique win her competitive primary.
Right now, we’re seeing what happens when we turn demands for racial justice and criminal justice reform into progressive political power. But we can’t let up, not even for a minute.
Both Monique and Desmond are standing up against the establishment that wants to keep the status quo in place. They are proof that progress is possible, but only if we fight for it.
Join us this Sunday, August 30 at 8pm ET/5pm PT for the WFP Assembly to hear from Monique Worrell and Desmond Meade, and find out how you can plug in to this movement.
Hope to see you there,
Team WFP
