John,

One important question keeps coming up as I'm talking to friends and supporters on the (mostly virtual) campaign trail over the past few weeks: Can Democrats flip the Senate in November?

My answer? Absolutely. And not only do I think we can, I think we must.

Our nation is facing multiple crises at this critical juncture, from the coronavirus pandemic to the scourge of systemic racism and injustice. And time and again, Republican leaders like President Trump and Mitch McConnell are proving that they simply aren't up to the task of solving these big problems. In fact, they are actively making things worse -- and the American people are getting tired of their distraction, inaction, and failure to lead when our country needs it most.

John, Democrats can flip the Senate this year -- but we have to start by defending every Democratic seat, including right here in Illinois. We still need to raise another $9,000 to meet our August fundraising goal. Can you contribute $5 now?

The latest polls in surprisingly competitive states like Texas, South Carolina, and Arizona are showing that the fight for control of the Senate is shaping up to be closer than ever. Pundits once wrote off Democrats' hopes of winning the Senate -- but what once seemed impossible is becoming more probable every day. It's clear that the Senate majority is within reach.

But the only way we're going to win this fight for our future is if we make it happen -- and that means ensuring our Democratic campaigns have the resources they need to compete and win.

That's why I'm asking for your help to meet this crucial $70,000 August fundraising goal.

Stand with me before the deadline, John. Rush in a $5 donation now.
