John,

As we celebrate American workers today, I want you to remember that labor is more than a source of income. It's a source of pride.

In 1882, thousands of workers marched in New York City to demand fair pay, manageable hours, and safe working conditions. People began organizing themselves into unions because they knew -- and this is still true today -- that we are stronger when we leverage our collective power against the forces that stand to profit from our blood, sweat, and tears.

That's why I'm fighting to protect and strengthen our labor unions in Congress -- because treating working people right matters. Add your name today if you'll join me in the fight to uplift American workers this Labor Day:

We've still got a lot of work to do. Misleadingly named "right to work" laws are crippling unions in state after state. Mitch McConnell refuses to join my House colleagues in protecting at-risk union pension plans with the Butch Lewis Act. Trump's reckless trade war is hurting American farmers and the entire agriculture industry daily.

That's why I'm asking you to join the movement for working people today. John, I need you to add your name to my petition so I know you're with me in this fight:

So today, as you're enjoying the remaining hours of your long weekend, I urge you to take the time to remember who and what we're fighting for. Thanks to the sacrifices of those who came before us, we're able to enjoy this day of celebration alongside family and friends.

In solidarity,

Dwight
