Hey John -

Dan Crenshaw here. I hope you are well.

This week, I spoke at the Republican National Convention to give a simple, bipartisan message: America is a nation of heroes who deserve to be celebrated.

I monitored the path of Hurricane Laura as it thankfully did not impact our community severely. Our prayers are with our neighbors along the Upper Gulf Coast as they recover from this disaster.

I also spoke out against radical left-wing groups that are acting like fascists on American streets.

Now, here’s your campaign brief:

A NATION OF HEROES
“We can decide right now that American greatness will not be rejected nor squandered. It’s up to every single one of us to rediscover our strength - we must become the heroes that we admire. America was built by them and our future will be protected by them. It will be protected by YOU.”

I was honored to deliver this message to America from the deck of the Battleship Texas - a vessel which served our nation's heroes through two world wars - during the Republican National Convention. America is full of heroes - from our soldiers and their families to health care workers on the front lines of COVID, police officers, and every day Americans.

I hope my speech inspired Americans across the political spectrum to stand up for America’s story. Preserve it. Never forget it.

AN UPDATE ON HURRICANE LAURA
As Hurricane Laura approached Texas, I toured the Harris County Emergency Operations Center to receive an update on how they were preparing for the story. Thankfully, our community was not severely impacted by Hurricane Laura, but Texas communities further east were impacted and our neighbors in Louisiana were sadly hit incredibly hard by the hurricane.

While much of our community was spared, Hurricane Laura is a reminder that we must always be prepared during hurricane season. Make sure you have made a plan with your family and know your plan so that you are not caught off guard when the next storm hits.

WHAT FASCISM LOOKS LIKE

We have seen really disturbing videos of radical mobs accosting ordinary citizens minding their own business and eating dinner. Why is this happening?

Because, unfortunately, when leftists like the ones in these videos shout “no justice, no peace,” it’s not about true justice, it’s about power.

Give them power, or they won’t give you peace.

Join the mob, or they won’t give you peace.

Do what they say, when they say it, or they won’t give you peace.

This is fascism, and it’s important to call it out when we see it. We can’t allow protests to devolve into harassing fellow Americans to coerce them into complying with the demands of the mob.
