My social feed every summer is full of travelers wandering down Italian cobblestone alleys, sunning themselves in Greece, and breaking apart flaky croissants in France. However, Europe is also home to some incredible lesser-known places, like Lofoten, Norway, where you can soak in the sun until midnight, and in the jewel-colored waters of Soča Valley, Slovenia. Or you can explore under-the-radar islands like Scotland’s Outer Hebrides to see the “Barra Boys,” a delightful pod of dolphins.
If a trip to Europe isn’t in the cards this sunny season, pack up the car for a delightful road trip through the U.S.'s smallest state, or discover why people prefer visiting Costa Rica in the summertime.
