Why Poland Belongs in the G20 [[link removed]]

President George W. Bush convened the first Group of 20 leaders’ summit to tackle the 2008 global financial crisis. But in recent periods of political and economic turmoil, world leaders haven’t put the forum to good use.

President Donald Trump wants to bring the format back to its core mission of promoting economic growth and strengthening partnerships when he hosts the next summit in Miami this December. To advance this agenda, his administration has promoted Poland, a key ally that isn’t a permanent member of the G20.

Warsaw is driven by a new generation of entrepreneurs eager to find opportunities in a changing environment.” The country is also a star in defense and has become one of the most ambitious members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, overshadowing many of the alliance’s longest-standing members.
