doing everything right. A Charleston driver pulled over specifically
to avoid a road rage confrontation — and when the other man followed
him and attacked anyway, he was left with no other option [14].
De-escalate first, every time. It's what keeps you alive and it's what
keeps you out of a courtroom. And in Houston, a 70-year-old pool hall
owner shot a crowbar-armed suspect who charged him during a 2 a.m.
break-in attempt [15].
 
On the legislative and legal front, the House voted to block credit
card tracking of gun buyers, with five Democrats crossing over [16] to
get it done. And NRA, FPC, and SAF jointly told the Sixth Circuit the
NFA's short-barreled rifle registry is unconstitutional [17] — with
the tax stamp zeroed out, the attacks on the registry itself keep
coming.
