Governor DeWine, Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik, and State Tourism Director Sarah Wickham announced [ [link removed] ] that Ohio welcomed nearly 245 million visits in 2025, generating nearly $58 billion in economic impact and supporting more than 447,000 jobs, reinforcing tourism's role as one of Ohio's strongest economic drivers.
State leaders also unveiled a new partnership between TourismOhio and the Greater Columbus Convention Center, designed to introduce millions of convention attendees and business travelers to destinations across Ohio — encouraging visitors to extend their stay, explore more of the state, and return for future trips.
"Ohio's greatest strength has always been its people and its communities," said Governor DeWine. "Every Ohio community has something unique to offer, and tourism gives us the opportunity to showcase those experiences to visitors from across the country and around the world. Whether someone comes for business or recreation, every trip is a chance to experience what makes Ohio different from other states."

Ohio’s summer just got a whole lot sweeter. The Ohio Ice Cream Trail returns [ [link removed] ] with 195 stops — its largest lineup yet — highlighting the local shops and hometown flavors that make exploring Ohio a treat.
"Summer in Ohio and ice cream go hand-in-hand," said Governor DeWine. "Some of our best family memories throughout the years have involved a stop at a local ice cream shop, and TourismOhio's Ice Cream Trail makes it easier than ever to find the perfect scoop."
Originally launched in 2018 with just 15 stops, the Ohio Ice Cream Trail has grown into a beloved summer tradition. This year, 49 new locations join 146 returning favorites, bringing the trail to a record 195 stops.
From family-owned dairies and neighborhood scoop shops to nationally recognized favorites, the Ohio Ice Cream Trail showcases the flavors and communities that make Ohio unique. Working alongside county convention and visitors bureaus across the state, TourismOhio selected shops that serve Ohio-made ice cream or have become longtime staples of their local communities.

Ohio BUILDS Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program [ [link removed] ]
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik today announced [ [link removed] ] $11.9 million in grants to help 73 counties prepare sites for redevelopment by demolishing existing unsafe, blighted buildings.
The funding comes from the latest round of the Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program [ [link removed] ]. Ohio's operating budget has allotted $21.5 million each fiscal year to help communities demolish dilapidated residential and commercial structures and prepare those properties for future economic development.
"Every community deserves places that inspire pride and create opportunity," said Governor DeWine. "By helping remove long-vacant, unsafe buildings, we're giving local leaders the chance to reimagine these properties in ways that strengthen neighborhoods, attract investment, and improve quality of life for the people who call Ohio home."
