Ilhan Omar: 'ICE has fatally shot 11 people since Donald Trump's second term began. These are not isolated incidents. They are a predictable result of a cruel, violent system. Abolish ICE.

Friend, Ilhan Omar has called to abolish ICE for years now.

One of her opponents in this race, however, has not joined that call. In fact, she was a prosecutor for ICE during Trump’s current term in the White House, while ICE agents were terrorizing our communities and rounding up our neighbors.

Minnesotans deserve progressive leaders in Congress who are unafraid to make tough calls with moral clarity. That’s Ilhan.

We all watched with horror as ICE descended upon Minnesota with the express goal of causing chaos, wreacking havoc, and getting revenge against communities that don’t support Donald Trump.

We all saw the videos of protesters being violently abused. Of people of color getting racially profiled. Of innocent people being dragged out of their cars and beaten. Of legal immigrants and citizens alike getting whisked away to inhumane detention centers. Of Renee Good and Alex Pretti being shot dead in the streets. Of Trump and JD Vance defending these killings and refusing to even investigate.

After all of that, after everything our communities have been through, if you can’t bring yourself to say that ICE must be abolished, then we should have no confidence in your ability to do the right thing, even when it’s hard.

Ilhan has earned the trust of this community because she doesn’t back down from the hard fights. She dives in head first and fights the MAGA far-right with everything she’s got.
