Team, last week I signed our new state budget into law.

Budgets can feel abstract. So let me be concrete about five ways this one shows up in your life:

1. Your taxes aren't going up. Not one broad-based tax increase. Not one fee hike.

2. Housing. We're streamlining permitting to cut the delays that hold projects up, and putting $1.08 billion into rental and emergency assistance. More homes, faster.

3. Schools and college. $7.66 billion for our public schools — fully funding the final year of the Student Opportunity Act — plus $1.2 billion to help families afford child care. And free community college continues.

4. Jobs. Summer jobs for young people, training in the trades and manufacturing, and career centers to help people find good work.

5. Health care. We extended ConnectorCare, which helps more than 47,000 residents afford insurance — even as Washington moves to cut coverage.

That's what's possible when a state is led by people who put you first. And it's exactly what my self-funding MAGA opponents would work to undo.
