Folks, when the National Republican Campaign Committee sent out a memo
signaling to dark money GOP groups to attack Gina for being a lesbian, this race
became personal to me.
When I served as Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, I was the first person
in a same-sex marriage to represent the United States as an Ambassador in the
Western Hemisphere. Like so many LGBTQ Americans, I had to prove that being gay
had NOTHING to do with how well I could perform my job.
And Gina has proven to me that she would do an amazing job at representing the
people of Texas’ 23rd district.Gina’s opponent, on the other hand, has embraced
the homophobic messaging of the NRCC proving he’s unfit to serve in Congress.
I’m going to do everything I can to help elect Gina to Congress, but in the
most competitive House race in the country, she needs more than just me
standing with her. Will you help us DEFEAT the NRCC by chipping in $20 right
now?
