John,
This week I was the only U.S. Representative from Michigan who voted to end $3.3 billion payments to Israel’s genocidal military, which our tax dollars fund each year.
We need elected leaders who will move funding away from war crimes and instead fund what our communities urgently need to survive — including healthcare and housing for all.
Unfortunately, most of my coworkers in Congress are millionaires who don’t understand the daily struggle to afford necessities like food, housing, and healthcare.
We need leaders who are community organizers and who will move with urgency to fight for the big solutions we need to match the scale of our crises — like Donavan McKinney and Dave Zeglen.
I’m endorsing and supporting Donavan McKinney for U.S. Congress — in the Michigan congressional district next to mine — and Dave Zeglen for Ann Arbor City Council. Both reject corporate PAC money, instead relying on grassroots support.
Unlike the multi-millionaire incumbent, Donavan knows our community’s struggles because he’s lived them: Growing up, his family struggled with food and housing insecurity.
If elected to Congress, Donavan will join me in championing policies to end poverty, such as canceling debt and sending universal direct payments to people so they can afford their bills.
Both Donavan and Dave have been union organizers, and they’ll keep pushing for free education for all.
Dave was raised by parents who were public school teachers, and as a university employee he supports students’ free speech rights and protects students from ICE. Involved in the Palestinian liberation movement for decades, Dave supported his campus’s encampment and has worked in the occupied West Bank.
I need allies by my side in Congress and in Michigan who will fight to end genocide, lower the cost of living, take on corporate greed and influence in our politics, fight back against Trump’s fascist policies and ICE, and fight for our communities’ needs.
We’re all running grassroots campaigns, where every dollar donated matters. And with our primary elections coming up soon, many voters have already begun casting their ballots in our elections.
Could you split a donation today between Donavan’s campaign for Congress, Dave’s campaign for City Council, and my re-election campaign before our August 4th primary elections?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately, split evenly between David Zeglen, Donavan McKinney, and Rashida Tlaib
Together, we’ll keep demanding a government that represents the people, not the billionaires who are lining their pockets at our expense. We’ll keep fighting back against oppression and moving toward a truly multiracial democracy where everyone can thrive.
Always serving you,
Rashida

John,
We need leaders who fight for economic justice and human rights, not corporate and billionaire donors.
Yesterday, I voted with 99 other Democratic Representatives to stop sending $3.3 billion a year to Israel’s genocidal military. The amendment didn’t pass, but our movement has built real power to cut off support for ethnic cleansing.
But I’m the only member of Congress from Michigan who voted for that amendment. I need an ally in Michigan’s Congressional delegation who will work to end U.S. support for genocide, and who will demand that our tax dollars fund our communities: Donavan McKinney.
Like me, Donavan McKinney and Dave Zeglen don’t take corporate PAC money. They have both been union organizers and champions for working class families. They’re standing up to corporate polluters and dreaming big about what our communities deserve.
That’s why I am supporting Donavan McKinney for U.S. Congress and Dave Zeglen for Ann Arbor City Council.
We need democratic socialist, pro-Palestine, pro-union, and anti-ICE leaders who are working to get big money out of politics — from the local level up to the federal level.
Donavan is running against a multi-millionaire incumbent who has spent $17 million of his own money to bankroll his campaigns, while using our tax dollars on ads to promote himself.
Donavan’s opponent is also a genocide enabler who voted to sanction the International Criminal Court after the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu.
The member of Congress representing one of the country’s poorest districts (the congressional district next to mine) must be deeply rooted in the community — like Donavan, who grew up poor and understands his constituents’ struggles. He’ll move with urgency to invest in our communities’ needs, rather than sending our tax dollars to fund war crimes.
Dave Zeglen is also rooted in his community and is taking on private utility companies, AI data centers, and the fossil fuel industry — while fighting for tenants’, students’, and workers’ rights.
Dave and Donavan are working toward environmental justice as well as free healthcare, education, and housing for all. We need them in public office.
Will you split a donation today between Donavan McKinney for U.S. Congress, Dave Zeglen for Ann Arbor City Council, and my re-election campaign, so we can counter corporate PACs and reach voters in the final few weeks before our primary elections?

Like me, Donavan and Dave are both democratic socialists who will fight for investments in our communities, not more bombs or billionaire profits.
Right now, most of my coworkers in Congress are millionaires who take money from AIPAC and corporate PACs. That’s certainly true of the incumbent in the congressional district next to mine, who regularly votes for corporate interests rather than the people.
I need allies in Congress and in Michigan who understand the struggles of our communities ― from unaffordable groceries to gas prices to insurance, utilities, housing, and healthcare — and who will fight for the big solutions that we need in order to meet the scale of our crises.
With each of our primary elections coming up quickly on August 4th, will you rush an urgent donation to our campaigns today?
Thank you for always having my back and for supporting the deeply progressive allies we need fighting for us and alongside us in Congress and in our communities.
With you in the fight for better,
Rashida
