Hi, Mike Cortese here. I want to talk to you today not as a candidate for Congress, but as someone who believes the people we send to Washington should reflect our values. It’s time we fix the problem this 2026, and we have under a month to raise enough money to keep us in the fight (you can join here [ [link removed] ]).
The Problem
Before talking about solutions, we have to know the problem. Everyone tosses around “MAGA this,” “Trump that,” but someone is doing the dirty work to make things move in the direction they are.
That someone is Scott Desjarlais, MAGA fanatic, and my opponent.
After Trump’s State of the Union address, DesJarlais chased the president down as he left the House chambers and said “Thank you, Mr. President, you earned this night.”
He’s shown hypocrisy, missed over 400 votes, and he has kept his head down, stayed in line with what MAGA tells him, and collects a taxpayer-funded paycheck along the way.
We got to show Americans this kind of “representation” has no place in government. Our primary is just 1 month away, and we need your help to keep our fight strong! :
The Solution
When I talk to folks across our district, they are worried about this kind of behavior. So much so, my whole campaign is based around it: I believe Hometowns over Headlines. It means we hold ourselves and our representatives to a higher standard, and I’m ready to meet it.
I’m running because just like the Democrats Desjarlais refuses to represent, I’m just an American taking it one day at a time. Providing for my family and working hard.
If it’s a crime to give Americans the opportunity to prosper… arrest me man!
When I first moved to Tennessee, I had no “in” for business. But I made it. Hard work, positivity, and grit got me where I am today: a music industry veteran, public servant, and proud husband and father of two boys.
If you want to help build a campaign that stands for that, a campaign that replaces controversy with competence, I hope you’ll donate today:

Thanks guys, I’ll be in touch. Receiving any help today is all put towards a better tomorrow, the right way.
