Last night, the President took the stage and, once again, spent his time complaining about an election he lost six years ago.

It is sad and embarrassing.

When I served in the military as a JAG, leadership meant taking responsibility and focusing on the mission ahead. Right now, the mission should be fixing the massive problems crushing working families right here in South Dakota.

The current administration in Washington has been an economic disaster for working folks. They have driven up the cost of living, mismanaged the economy, mismanaged a war, and made it nearly impossible for regular people to make ends meet. We have real, immediate crises that need to be solved.

But instead of fighting to fix these problems, D.C. is completely paralyzed. One party is creating the mess, and the other is too obsessed with its own inner grievance to fight back. And our Senator, Mike Rounds, is too terrified of his own party bosses to stand up and say, "Enough."

We desperately need real adults in the United States Senate.

We need leaders who remember their job is to serve the people, who are focused on the future, and who will actually do the hard work of making this government function for the people again.

I am running as an Independent because I don't answer to a party boss. I answer only to the Constitution and to you.
