When I traveled through the occupied West Bank earlier this month, I met families living under the constant threat of violent settlers.
One name came up again and again: Yinon Levi.

Levi has been accused of terrorizing Palestinian communities for years. He has been accused of destroying water wells, bulldozing agricultural land, burning farmland, driving families from their homes, and inciting violence against Palestinians.
When I visited the village of Umm al-Khair, I sat with Awdah Hathaleen's family. They told me about the day Awdah was killed and the devastating impact his death has had on their community. They also told me something even more chilling: Yinon Levi continues to return to their village, forcing Awdah's family and neighbors to see the man they believe is responsible for his death.
Before leaving office, President Biden sanctioned Levi, and his own family admitted those sanctions had a real impact on his business. But one of President Trump's first acts was to lift those sanctions, sending exactly the wrong message—that violent settlers can act with impunity.
We cannot accept that.
