There’s been a lot of speculation about what Trump will say in his speech tonight.
John,
In a couple hours, Trump will take the stage in Georgia for a speech in which he promises to reveal “really big news” on election security.
But we know what this speech is really about — a way for him to do whatever it takes to distract, divide, and keep people from focusing on what really matters in this moment.
We don’t know exactly what he’ll say tonight, but we can bet that he’ll spread more irresponsible, conspiratorial lies about the security of America’s electoral system. Because when someone like Donald Trump is afraid they’re about to lose, their last resort is to call the whole game into question.
But honestly? Regardless of what Trump says, our mission stays the same. We can’t afford to lose focus or fall into despair while he manufactures chaos in the final months before the midterms.
So tonight, I’ll be thinking about two things:
🔴 Defeating Republicans in red-to-blue races to break the GOP’s grip on power in state legislatures and in Congress — with our candidates like Randy Villegas (CA-22), Tim Hayes (PA-HD-143), Trevor Jung (WI-SD-21), and Kristian Carranza (TX-HD-118).
🔵 Primarying asleep-at-the-wheel Democrats by backing young, bold progressives who will meet this moment with the energy and fight it demands — with our candidates like Patrick Roath (MA-08), Donovan McKinney (MI-13), and Mai Vang (CA-07).
That’s the work. That’s always been the work. And no speech, no matter how loud it is, changes that.
Will you pitch in $5 to help Leaders We Deserve stay focused on what really matters — electing the next generation of bold, young progressives?
