At Todd Blanche's confirmation hearing to become Attorney General of the United
States, Senator John Kennedy asked him a simple question:

"Are you and President Trump friends?"

Blanche's answer? "I'm his lawyer."

Then he caught himself. "Was his lawyer."

That slip of the tongue told the truth better than anything else in five hours
of testimony. Todd Blanche isn't auditioning to be the American people's lawyer.
He's already Donald Trump's lawyer - the man who defended him in his criminal
trials - and now Trump wants to hand him the entire Department of Justice.

And if you want to know what a Blanche Justice Department looks like, look at
what he's already done:

Blanche personally sat down with Ghislaine Maxwell - a convicted sex trafficker
- for a two-day interview. Days later, she was quietly transferred to a
minimum-security prison camp.

A cushy new prison for the woman who trafficked girls for Jeffrey Epstein.
Indictments for Trump's political enemies. A $1.8 billion slush fund negotiated
for Trump himself. That's not a Department of Justice. That's a personal law
firm with subpoena power.

The Attorney General is supposed to be the chief law enforcement officer for 330
million Americans, not a fixer for one man. More than 1,200 former DOJ
employees have sounded the alarm about what Blanche has done to the department.
Even Republican senators are uneasy.

Democrats have to stand strong here and push back as hard as possible. Will you
