Subject: The IACC is back! Send in your comments by July 17th!

Autistic people need to be included in every part of autism research! Research can help us live and thrive in our communities. The Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) is one of the ways the US government makes choices about autism research. The IACC is meeting on July 31st, and they need to hear from you before Friday, July 17th! ASAN has made it easier than ever to learn about the IACC and send them public comments. Click here to learn how you can take IACCtion today!

IACCtion is ASAN's plain language page about the IACC. There are two parts. The first part talks about the IACC and how to share comments. This part will always stay the same. The second part talks about the July 31st IACC meeting. This part tells you what things the IACC wants to hear from autistic people about by July 17th.

We don't know what the IACC meeting will be about yet, but we know what kinds of research helps autistic people! We know the current members of the IACC have said untrue and dangerous things about autism. We know that the current IACC does not seem to think including autistic people is important. It is more important than ever to submit public comments! We can take IACCtion to make sure the IACC knows too. You can submit a public comment talking about why autistic people must be part of autism research. You can find more suggestions on things you can write to the IACC about here. Nothing about us without us -- make sure the IACC knows what research matters to you!
