Friend,
I’m thrilled to let you know that Congressional leadership just signaled [link removed] that the U.S. House will vote on the MORE Act this September!
Tell your House Representative to vote for the MORE Act to end the federal war on marijuana and repair the harms of prohibition. [link removed]
This step forward comes after years of hard work and pressure from advocates like you.
DPA has been the lead on this groundbreaking bill since its inception. It’s the first-ever comprehensive marijuana legalization bill to ever be considered for a full House floor vote.
Marijuana prohibition is ruining lives and disproportionately affecting Black, Latinx, and Indigenous people and low-income communities.
The Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment & Expungement (MORE) Act is a step towards justice. It would deschedule marijuana and end federal prohibition in a fair way by reinvesting tax revenue back into communities most affected by failed marijuana laws. It would support equitable licensing, allow for expungement of marijuana arrests and convictions, prevent deportation for marijuana offenses, and so much more.
We made history when the MORE Act was approved by the House Judiciary Committee. Now we need your help to make history again.
Take action for marijuana justice: urge your House Representative to vote for the MORE Act [link removed].
Sincerely,
Queen Adesuyi
