Hi there John —
It’s lovely to meet you! I wanted to introduce myself, I’m Shery Yang Wonnacott and I am proud to be joining the California Democratic Party as Communications Director!
And, John, it’s because of people like you that I can do this incredible work. We had so much grassroots support during the Democratic Convention and around Senator Harris’ nomination, that the Party was able to expand our team. Thanks to you, our Party is growing and thriving under unprecedented circumstances.
Can I count on you to chip in $5 so we can grow our communications budget? Every $10 allows us to reach 1,000 voters on Facebook and we have a powerful message that needs to reach NINE MILLION Democrats in our great state.
With more than a decade of experience in public relations and public affairs, I am so excited to bring our powerful message to every single California voter in innovative and COVID-safe ways. Every dollar, every message, every ad and every voter counts.
That’s the lesson I learned while I was in Sacramento. I’m a first generation Hmong American woman and the first Hmong Chief of Staff in the California State Capitol. As a California native — born and raised in Yuba and Fresno County — I care deeply about the future of our state, and keeping the California Dream alive means that we need another blue wave this November.
John, you’ll be hearing from me more often. I’ve been getting settled into the new role really nicely and appreciate the entire team’s support with 67 days left to go!
Onward!
-Shery
