John, the affordability crisis in this country is spiraling out of control. Families are struggling to afford healthcare, housing, gas, groceries and other basic necessities. That’s why I introduced the American Affordability Act to help put money back into Americans’ pockets across the board.

My legislation lowers costs for housing, energy, healthcare, childcare and education costs through a series of commonsense tax credits and deductions.

Gas, food, and rent prices across the country are hitting unprecedented levels. We need to do everything we can to make progress towards affordability.

But I’m not looking to make a quick fix. I want to build long-term economic security for families through my American Affordability Act. It will give tax credits to make housing more affordable, assist with childcare and adoption expenses, help lower monthly healthcare costs, and even expand tax credits for education.
