The state Senate this morning delayed its vote on AB 725, ugly cousin to SB 1120, authored by Scott Wiener's Bay Area pal, Buffy Wicks.
AB 725 is one of the Nine Bad Bills, four of which you helped CRUSH. Legislators may vote on AB 725 this afternoon! We don’t know.
Call your state Senator NOW!
AB 725 "upzones" most residential areas to high density, including single-family and low-density apartment areas. It would quietly take effect 2-3 years from now.
Why? To make way for a false population boom, forecast by the bill’s authors.
A boom isn’t coming, says none other than the US Census.
Silicon Valley is switching to remote working. Bay Area buildings have “For Rent” signs.
Wicks and Wiener missed that memo!
MANY state senators are very uneasy about AB 725.
WHAT TO DO, NEXT: Senate can still pass AB 725 late this afternoon. Or delay and vote this weekend!
If approved, AB 725 goes to Governor.
The legal deadline to approve new laws is Aug. 31, 3 days away.
This is unfolding under cover of COVID-19. No transparency.
Hit back against AB 725 NOW.
Call your SENATOR’S SACTO OFFICE. Senators are wondering where constituents stand on the remaining Nine Bad Bills!
