You know that feeling of a job well done? When you’ve used a skill to the best of your ability, and you feel like you’ve just tapped into your superpower?

As the Redwoods Rising Partnership Manager, I have the unique honor of seeing Save the Redwoods, California State Parks, and the National Park Service combine their superpowers to reach our common goal: to heal the scars left by decades of industrial logging and revive 70,000 acres of second-growth redwood forest.

Each year, scientists, conservationists, equipment operators, local businesses, budget wranglers, and restoration experts collaborate to restore hundreds of acres of dense forest and remove miles of failing logging roads to ensure a brighter future for the forest, for local communities, and for you.

That collaboration also involves local communities along the North Coast, bringing sustainable, high-paying jobs to areas with high unemployment. Redwoods Rising has created growth opportunities within the North Coast natural resource job market, with staff and former apprentices advancing to new roles within Redwoods Rising and other local restoration projects.

This depth of knowledge and passion is why we can be ambitious and give a second life to forest ecosystems that would once have been considered a lost cause.

Your support is an important piece of this puzzle and helps us ramp up restoration work, hire Redwood Rising Apprentices, and make the most of the summer restoration season. [[link removed]]

You don’t need to be an expert to help restore these forests. You just have to care. Donor support is a crucial piece of this puzzle, allowing us to navigate uncertainties and maintain momentum on science-driven restoration work. [[link removed]]

The redwood forests of the future need us, now. Together, I know we won’t let them down.

Yours in partnership,
Noelle Dorward

P.S. We have an important funding deadline coming up on July 31. If you want to be part of bringing these damaged forests back to life, please make your gift now! [[link removed]]
