John,
Last night, we hosted a virtual call with hundreds of you! .
We discussed the current state of family separation, shared our thoughts on the new Netflix documentary series Immigration Nation, and went over different steps everyone can take to fight to end the detention and separation of families.
The summary: To end family separation in all its forms, we need each of you in this fight with us. COVID has made organizing in 2020 difficult, which is why it is even more important to have each of you engaged with us. We all have a part to play.
So, our top ask for you right now is help us get to know you better so we ensure we continue to build power together and make the best use of all of our unique experiences and contributions.
Fill out this survey now to help us get to know you better, and improve the work we do together. Here’s the first question: How long have you been trying to make our country a more just, inclusive place?
I’m brand new to any kind of activism
I’m occasionally involved in activism.
I’m consistently involved in activism.
Activism has always been a part of my life.
No matter who you are or what sort of skills and experiences you have, there’s a place for you in our movement. Ending family separation doesn’t just take lawyers and advocates lobbying in the halls of power. It takes teachers and artists, nurses and caregivers, students and parents, and more. We need people organizing their own communities, telling their stories, documenting our movement, and passing on our wisdom to the next generation.
We have the power to end the separation and detention of families, and it’ll take all of us working together to make that happen. With so many people from different walks of life—and with such vast experiences and skills—it’s important for us to take stock of the strengths we all bring to the table.
By filling out this survey, you’ll help us build a stronger movement by helping us understand the role you can play. We can’t do this without you. Can you take a quick minute to fill out our survey so that we can get to know you a bit better?
Thanks for everything you do,
Cheska Perez
