Team,
If you watched the Republican debate for Governor last week, you saw exactly what Michigan is up against.
John James, Mike Cox, and Perry Johnson stood on stage and made the case for why each of them deserves to lead our state. What they actually delivered was a masterclass in chaos, mudslinging, and out-of-touch politics.
Not one of them talked about what they'd do about rising grocery prices. Not one of them had a real answer on increasing healthcare costs.
And on top of it all, strategists are stating that whoever wins this primary will have to distance themselves from Trump to survive in November. And it's no wonder why, with the president sitting at just 35% approval.
Think about that: they spent the night out-MAGAing each other for a primary electorate, knowing full well that position is a losing one in November.
That's not leadership. That's a party in disarray, and Michigan Democrats are ready to take full advantage of it.
The August 4th primary is three weeks away. Whoever emerges from that race will have spent weeks attacking each other and tying themselves to Trump's unpopular agenda.
We'll be ready to meet them and hold them accountable to their record. But being ready takes resources. And that work starts right now.
