John,
In this week’s update, (1) Lee's RNC speech, (2) law enforcement Bill of Rights, and (3) supporting Long Island restaurants. Lee's RNC Speech As we celebrated America as a Land of Heroes, it was an honor to address America from a VFW post of heroes in Westhampton Beach. Here is my full speech from this week's Republican National Convention: here. Lee Proposes "Bill of Rights" to Protect Law Enforcement There are 16 States that have a "Bill of Rights" to protect law enforcement. This week, I introduced a House Resolution urging EVERY State in our country to adopt one.

Reopening Restaurants on Long Island If the government is ever going to shut down restaurants on such a wide scale, it better give them the tools to reopen and thrive. This week, on Mornings with Maria on Fox Business, Maria Bartiromo and I discussed the restaurant industry in NYC and on Long Island. NYC STILL doesn’t have indoor dining. To eat at a restaurant, in many cases, you have to sit on the street with cars passing by next to your table. Forget about a debate over 50% capacity indoors... they are at 0% and Mayor DeBlasio says he has no plans to change that at any time. So a two story restaurant, for example, can’t even have one family eating on each floor? That totally lacks common sense. Meanwhile, the State Liquor Authority needs to chill out with some extremely overzealous enforcement measures on Long Island that are totally uncalled for. Government needs to do much better.
