In the near-total abortion ban state of Iowa, the open, Republican-leaning 2nd congressional district has been named one of the DCCC’s “Target Districts in Play.” We are proud to have endorsed Lindsay James, who, according to recent polling, leads by 3 points in a head-to-head matchup.

Lindsay is running against Trump and Turning Point USA-endorsed MAGA extremist Joe Mitchell – known as the “Matt Gaetz” of Iowa. He moved into the district just one week before launching his congressional campaign and has since used his campaign funds to pay for travel (including $77,000 at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago), five-star hotels, luxury restaurants, and to repeatedly reimburse himself.

In a state where 57% of counties are in an OB-GYN healthcare desert, he also used his position in the state House to vote for a constitutional amendment that paved the way for a total abortion ban. Lindsay, on the other hand, is ready to continue the fight to restore abortion access and will use her position on the national level to combat the greed of pharmaceutical and insurance companies that are hurting her community.

Lindsay’s opponent comes from extraordinary wealth and has a multitude of personal scandals.
