John,
I’m excited to endorse two candidates who are movement leaders and community organizers: Rima Mohammad and Will Lawrence.
Will co-founded the environmental justice organization Sunrise Movement, where he helped draft the Green New Deal. He also founded the Michigan Rent Is Too Damn High Coalition, which has won statewide protections for low-income renters, and the Mid-Michigan Tenant Resource Center, which has helped families avoid homelessness.
He’s now running for U.S. Congress in Michigan’s 7th district, a swing district that’s currently represented by a Big-Oil-backed Republican.
We need Will to win so we can flip the U.S. House of Representatives, stop Trump’s and Republicans’ agenda, take on the billionaires and warmongers and corporate polluters who profit off our pain, and join me in the fight for Medicare for All and a federal moratorium on AI data centers.
Rima Mohammad co-founded the People’s Coalition, a Michigan organization and PAC dedicated to equity and progressive change.
A Palestinian refugee whose life was transformed by her public school experience, Rima was the first Arab American elected to the Ann Arbor Public Schools Board. Now she’s running for re-election to continue supporting marginalized students.
Rima and Will are both unbought and people-powered, running grassroots campaigns that are deeply rooted in their communities.
Will you build our progressive movement up and down the ballot by splitting a donation today between Rima Mohammad, Will Lawrence, and my re-election campaign?
As an immigrant growing up in poverty, Rima found stability and opportunity in public schools.
Her family came here when she was 5 years old, and their experience with displacement and rebuilding their lives in multiple countries shaped how she approaches immigration policy — with urgency, compassion, and a focus on dignity.
While serving as a school board trustee, Rima has pushed to protect the privacy and safety of immigrant students and families, including safeguarding immigration status information and ensuring training for teachers and staff.
She has supported school policies that protect LGBTQ+ students and ensure inclusivity and safety. She also supported transitioning from diesel to electric school buses and installing solar panels on school rooftops — prioritizing underserved communities, where environmental and health burdens are often greatest and infrastructure investment has historically lagged.
In college, Will built a national student network of students working for fossil fuel divestment. And while serving as a community organizer, he has fought for good jobs and housing, organized food drives for thousands of families, and canceled $100,000 in medical debt for his neighbors.
Will is demanding lower costs of living, Medicare for All, a federal moratorium on data centers, an arms embargo to stop weapons sales to Israel and other human rights violators, and a ban on stock trading by federal lawmakers.
He’s running against two corporate Democrats in Michigan’s August 4th congressional primary election, to ultimately defeat the district’s corporate-backed Republican representative this fall.
A majority of my colleagues are millionaires who take money from corporate PACs and AIPAC. I need people like Will Lawrence by my side in Congress.
Please split a contribution between Will and Rima’s campaigns, and my re-election campaign today so together we can grow our progressive power and build a government that helps us all thrive.
