John,
Last night in his speech at the Republican Convention, Donald Trump spewed his usual racist attacks against our movement for justice:
“We have to give law enforcement, our police, back their power. They are afraid to act. They are afraid to lose their pension. They are afraid to lose their jobs. And by being afraid, they are not able to do the job that they so desperately want to do for you.” –Trump
It’s clear that Trump doesn’t care about safety. He doesn’t care that police officers helped a man get away with murdering two protestors in Kenosha, WI.
It’s clear that “the job” Trump wants police to do is to continue oppressing Black people. What Trump and the police are really afraid of is that we’ll keep electing reform-minded prosecutors who will insure accountability for unchecked police brutality and racism.
That’s why there’s a bigger target than ever on our movement to bring justice to our communities. We’re preparing for Trump and his racist friends to spend huge amounts of money to defeat our endorsed candidates in November.
John, can you give a couple of dollars or whatever you’re able to give so we can close the gap on our $45,000 August fundraising goal? Your donation sends a strong message that we condemn Trump’s racist, anti-reform agenda.
Contribute $3
We’re up against well-funded groups who will spend big to protect prisons and police. But time and time again, we proved that with enough people pitching in, we can win.
That’s why we’re proud to say that an average donation to emails like this is $12.38. When we put together our spare change or whatever we’re willing to sacrifice to help elect progressive-minded leaders — we have the power to create real change.
Together,
RJP
