*Attention Scallop License holders in Zone 3/Cobscook Bay Area:*
The Department has scheduled an in-person meeting on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 from 5-7 pm at the Whiting Town Office at 169 Route 1, Whiting [ [link removed] ] to discuss Cobscook Bay scallop fishery.
Commissioner Wilson with DMR scallop staff, and Marine Patrol, will be hosting this meeting to discuss future research and management ideas for the Cobscook Bay area. All ideas from this local meeting will be presented at the next Scallop Advisory Council (SAC) meeting to inform discussions on Zone 3 management plans for the 2026-2027 season. The SAC is scheduled for the following week, Wednesday, July 22 at Jeff's Catering in Brewer
We encourage all scallop harvesters that operate within the Cobscook Bay scallop fishery to attend the meeting and share your ideas for future research needs or management measures for the scallop fishery.
