Last year, I made the tough decision to walk away from a 30-year Tejano music career to run for Congress.

People thought I was crazy.

From the jump, the political insiders in Washington counted me out. They said a Tejano singer had no shot at winning in TX-15. My Republican opponent even mocked me, saying that I only belonged at quinceañeras and not the halls of Congress.

In the latest poll of TX-15, I'm leading my opponent by 2 points. We've turned a Trump +18 district into the most competitive House race in Texas.
