John,
The U.S. House of Representatives plans to vote on the National Defense Authorization Act as soon as it returns next week.
Republicans want to hand Trump a record-breaking $1.5 trillion Pentagon budget for next year ― more than half of which will go to for-profit weapons contractors.
In response, I’ve introduced a package of 26 amendments to the bill, which includes ending U.S. participation in the Israeli military’s ethnic cleansing campaign in Lebanon, banning AI data centers on federal lands and military bases, blocking an attempt to merge the U.S. and Israeli militaries, stopping politicians from profiting off war, and redirecting tens of billions of dollars away from the U.S. military and toward affordable housing for Americans.
Before Congress votes, we need to show massive public support for our anti-war agenda. Click here to read more, then add your name.
Together, we’re demanding Congress assert its constitutional authority to stop U.S. involvement in the Israeli government’s atrocities including in Lebanon, and redirect our tax dollars back to our communities rather than funding war crimes or lining weapons corporations’ pockets.
Always serving you,
Rashida

John,
Just like Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, the United States is not a bystander in the Israeli military’s ethnic cleansing and occupation of the West Bank and Lebanon. Our country is an active participant in these atrocities.
At the end of June, 189 members of the House of Representatives voted for my Lebanon War Powers Resolution to end U.S. involvement in war crimes in Lebanon. Support for the bill continues to grow, and I will keep pushing to save lives.
This policy is part of my package of 26 amendments to rein in U.S. military abuse — amending this year’s National Defense Authorization Act that, without changes, would hand Trump a record-breaking $1.5 trillion Pentagon budget.
Next week, the House of Representatives will vote on next year's military budget, followed by a vote in the Senate. So we’ve got to speak out before that happens.
We need to show Congress that our package of amendments to the military budget bill has broad public support. Will you add your name now to support my amendments to uphold human rights at home and abroad, protect our servicemembers, block U.S.-Israeli military integration, stop politicians from profiting off war, end U.S. participation in war crimes, and redirect war funding to invest in our communities?
Our package of 26 amendments includes:
-
Ending U.S. participation in the latest Israeli invasion and occupation of Lebanon, which has massacred over 4,250 people and killed or maimed 12 children every day
-
Prohibiting bombs for genocide and funds for war crimes
-
Blocking U.S.-Israel military integration and a new U.S.-Abraham accords military cooperation initiative with Israel and Gulf states
-
Banning any new military co-production agreement with Israel and production, use, and export of white phosphorus munitions (which burn through to the bone)
-
Stopping politicians from profiting from war and requiring public reporting of the full cost of the U.S. overseas military footprint
-
Funding housing ― not war ― by redirecting $50 billion in military spending to invest in affordable housing for all
-
Banning military participation in deportation flights and ending the U.S. fuel blockade on Cuba
-
Banning the construction and operation of AI data centers on federal land, including military bases
There is still time for Congress to vote yes on these amendments to end U.S. support for war crimes and re-direct military funding back toward our communities. Add your name now and show broad public support for our anti-war agenda.
Thank you for being a critical part of our movement for change.
Every year I vote against the National Defense Authorization Act because I can’t justify sending any more of our tax dollars to the U.S. military while our communities struggle here at home. But this bill passes Congress every year, so I always introduce amendments to make it better.
Together we’ll continue pushing for an end to U.S. imperialism while growing our anti-war movement.
