Dear Neighbor,
I hope you and your family are enjoying a wonderful summer. While Congress continues its work on behalf of the American people, I remain committed to delivering results for Florida's 12th Congressional District and ensuring my office remains accessible to assist you with federal services and resources.
Advocating for our Heroes: As noted in this editorial, a date for the groundbreaking of the Citrus VA clinic has been announced. I'm so proud that Citrus County's Veterans will soon have greater access to the quality health care they've earned - closer to home. I'm looking forward to celebrating this long-overdue milestone at the groundbreaking on July 24. It will be a great day for Citrus County and an even better day for the men and women who served our nation.
Delivering Results for You: Since coming to Congress, I have authored 78 provisions that have been signed into law, producing real, measurable results for the people of Florida and our nation.
One of my highest priorities has always been improving the quality of life for the families, businesses, and communities I serve. To date, I have also secured more than $87.6 million in direct federal grant funding for Florida's 12th Congressional District through the annual Appropriations process. These investments are helping modernize critical infrastructure, strengthen public safety, improve transportation and utility systems, protect our environment, and build stronger, more resilient communities that are well-positioned for future growth.

In addition to the community funding projects I have sponsored through the annual Appropriations process, I was pleased to learn that Hernando County has been awarded $13.6 million in federal grant funding to support critical infrastructure improvements at the Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport. This investment will enhance the airport's capabilities, support economic development, attract new business opportunities, and help create good-paying jobs throughout our region. I was proud to support Hernando County's application for this important project and will continue advocating for federal investments that deliver meaningful benefits to our local communities.
Accepting Applications for Interns: My office is now accepting applications for our Fall Internship Program. This is an outstanding opportunity for students interested in public service, government, or public policy to gain firsthand experience with the legislative process while serving our community. Interns work alongside my staff, assist with constituent services, learn how Congress operates, and develop valuable professional skills. To learn more or apply, please visit my website or contact my district office at (727) 232-2921.
Making Your Visit Special: If you're planning to visit our Nation's Capital, my office is here to help make your trip even more memorable. We can assist with requests for tours of the White House, the U.S. Capitol, and other popular attractions. Because availability is limited, I encourage you to submit tour requests at least 90 days in advance. We are currently booking tours for mid-October. To request a tour or learn more, please visit my website or call my office at (727) 232-2921. My staff looks forward to helping you plan a memorable visit to Washington.
Raising Awareness: Financial scams continue to evolve, especially with the growing use of artificial intelligence. Criminals are increasingly using AI-generated voices, deepfake videos, and personalized messages to target unsuspecting individuals. Staying informed is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your loved ones. I encourage you to review the latest consumer research and fraud prevention resources from the Consumer Financial Protection Board (CFPB) to learn how to recognize today's most common scams before they happen.
Helping Families Build Financial Security: One of the most valuable gifts parents and grandparents can provide is an early financial foundation for the next generation. A new savings opportunity allows families to begin investing in a child's future from birth, giving young Americans the potential to build meaningful savings long before they enter adulthood. Starting early can make a tremendous difference through the power of long-term growth. To learn more about eligibility and how these accounts work, click here.
Inviting You: While I'm in Washington, D.C. next week, I look forward to hosting a live Tele-Town Hall to hear directly from the people I have the privilege of representing. If you'd like to participate, simply dial the number below at the start of the call. Your thoughts, questions, and ideas help guide my work in Congress, and I believe the best solutions come from listening to those we serve. I hope you'll join the conversation and share the issues that matter most to you and your family.
Community Connection
I am fortunate to have a team of dedicated staff who regularly attend events throughout our community, especially when I am required to be in Washington, DC. Through their collective efforts, I am better able to stay connected to the issues that matter most to my constituents. As part of my commitment to developing a better understanding of the issues facing constituents in Citrus, Hernando and Pasco counties, members of my team attended several events last week. Here are a few highlights.
My team had the honor of standing before a packed crowd at the East Pasco America 250 Celebration to share an Extension of Remarks that I entered into the Congressional Record in recognition of this special occasion. As our Nation prepares to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence, it is important that we reflect on the sacrifices, courage, and enduring values that have shaped our country while celebrating the communities and citizens who continue to keep that spirit alive.

My team also joined residents in Hernando County for a public reading of the Declaration of Independence, commemorating the principles of liberty, self-government, and individual freedom that continue to define our Nation.
Additionally, my team was delighted to participate in the Fourth of July festivities in Inverness, joining families, Veterans, first responders, and community leaders in celebrating our Nation's independence. It was a wonderful opportunity to honor the freedoms we cherish, recognize the sacrifices of those who have defended them, and celebrate the strong sense of community that makes our region such a special place to call home.
Constituent Corner
My team recently received this message from a constituent after my team helped resolve his company's IRS issue.
I wanted to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for the outstanding assistance you have provided with our IRS matters. Your attention to detail, timely communication, and genuine commitment to helping us navigate these matters exemplify the very best of public service. In today's environment, exceptional service is too often taken for granted. We felt it was important to take the time to recognize the outstanding support your office has provided and to let both you and Congressman Bilirakis know that your efforts have made a meaningful difference. Your professionalism, patience, and dedication have not gone unnoticed, and they are sincerely appreciated.
This is just one example of the work we do each day. Constituent services are a critical element of our congressional office. The federal government is a massive operation, and my office is available if you ever need assistance in navigating the bureaucracy or cutting through red tape. Also, if you are planning a trip to Washington, DC please let us know 90 days in advance so we can help make the most of your visit. We are here to serve you!
