Friend,

There are 67 days until the most consequential election of our lifetimes. Democrats need to vote Donald Trump out of office AND flip four seats to take back the majority in the Senate. I believe we can win, and we need to work harder than ever to support Democratic candidates across the country.

But as we count down the days until Election Day, President Trump is spreading misinformation to undermine Americans’ faith in our democracy. He continually states that mail-in voting is fraudulent, denies the United States Post Office critical funding, and falsely claims that the election could be delayed past November 3.

The truth is that this election is happening -- without delay -- whether Trump agrees with it or not. The Constitution is clear: the power to change Election Day lies solely with Congress, not the president. In fact, in our country’s nearly 250-year history, there has never been a delay in a presidential election due to a national crisis, not even during the Civil War or the Great Depression.

Friend, America needs your support. Let America Vote is collecting signatures from across the country on a massive petition to tell Donald Trump that he cannot and will not delay the election. Sign your name next to mine, for the sake of our right to vote and our democracy.

Donald Trump’s misinformation campaign is a dangerous form of voter suppression, plain and simple. He floats the possibility of a delay in our election because he does not respect the Constitution, the rule of law, or the will of the American people.

I hope that in the days to come, we can unite and put our minds toward a common goal: Vote Trump out of office and flip the Senate. Together, as voters and keepers of democracy, we will prevail.

With every single person in this fight standing up to Trump and his lawless ways, we will succeed come November 3. This includes you, friend, signing petitions, donating when you can, and getting out the vote. So, I am asking you to sign this petition to tell Trump that this election will not be delayed.

Let's get it done.

Henry
