Mississippi Republicans just took action to crack down on violent crime.



Governor Tate Reeves signed legislation that ensures juveniles who commit
violent crimes with firearms can face serious consequences, while increasing
penalties for those who sell or transfer stolen firearms that are later used in
violent crimes.



Law enforcement leaders across our state supported these reforms because they
know one simple truth:



Safe communities require accountability.



But here's what caught our attention.



When this legislation came before the Mississippi Legislature, Republicans
stood together to pass it.



Every single Mississippi Democrat voted against it.



At a time when families are worried about crime, Republicans chose to stand
with law enforcement, victims, and safer communities.



Democrats chose a different path.



Mississippi families deserve leaders who are willing to take violent crime
seriously and protect our communities.
