it’s Andy Levin, former Congressman for Michigan’s 9th district.
I’m reaching out today because [ [link removed] ]I’m hoping you’ll join me in supporting
Abdul’s campaign for U.S. Senate, but first, I want to share something
personal with you.
In 2022, I ran for re-election to Congress, and AIPAC spent millions of
dollars (that came mostly from Republican billionaires) to defeat me in a
Democratic primary! They were threatened by our people-powered campaign
that challenged corporate and dark money influence in our politics.
Unfortunately, we came up short, but the movement we built didn’t
disappear.
I’ve continued organizing — because the fight to build a government that
prioritizes people over profit is the cause of our lives.
Now, those same forces are targeting Michigan’s Senate race. AIPAC will
spend whatever it takes to stop a truth-telling candidate like Abdul.
That’s why I’m backing Abdul and endorsing his campaign. [ [link removed] ]Will you join
me in helping generate the grassroots momentum Abdul needs to win this

John, if we
want our next senator to be someone who fights for working people, for
healthcare, for clean water, and for a democracy not controlled by
billionaire interests, Abdul is the best candidate for the job.
He’s the only candidate in this race who has never taken money from
corporate PACs or AIPAC, and never will. That means we can trust him to
fight for our best interests, but it also means he needs us to fuel this
campaign.
I know firsthand what it looks like when dark money groups try to buy an
election. Abdul is facing that on an even bigger scale.
But Abdul can win this race. He’s leading in the polls, he’s built a real
coalition, and he has the moral courage we desperately need in this
moment. This movement just has to show up for him.
