Hi John,
This week, I decided to tune into the Republican Convention -- I know, not a good way to spend a night. And, unsurprisingly, it felt like watching a train wreck in slow motion.
If you didn't watch, there's just one takeaway: Republicans are trying to sell fear, hate, and bigotry.
But with nearly 200,000 loved ones lost and 30 million out of work from the pandemic, most Americans aren't buying what they're selling.
We want hope, we need a vision for the future that promises progress for our communities, we need change.
Donald Trump and Republican leaders can't offer that, but Run for Something can.
By electing young progressives to city and county council seats, we can reimagine the role of policing and reallocate funding for programs that empower underserved communities -- like treating mental health and addiction and better funding for K-12 education.
By electing young progressives to state legislatures, we can end partisan gerrymandering and level the playing field for voters.
By electing young progressives to school boards, we can provide quality education for children while prioritizing their health and safety.
That's what Run for Something is about: real progress and hope for the future. But our candidates need your help to deliver. Can you chip in $5 or whatever you can to help recruit, support, and elect young progressives to down-ballot races nationwide?
