Ideally, I’d only be reaching out to update you on my work in Congress and to ask you for your input.

But thanks to Citizens United, running for office is expensive. That means I often need to send emails like this one asking you to chip in towards my campaign’s fundraising goals.

I checked in with my team, and we still need to bring in about 300 donations before the end of the month to stay on track.

My Republican opponent has right-wing billionaires and conservative dark money groups on her side, but I’m relying on grassroots donors like you to help me hold on to this seat. So I have to ask -- can you please chip in $10, $25 or whatever you can to help us close the gap over the weekend?

Election day is right around the corner and we have to be prepared. Thanks for standing with me.
