Let me tell you why this moment is so important.

When you put politicians in charge who don't fundamentally believe that public land should even exist, the destruction happens faster than you can blink.

We already saw Pete Stauber successfully ram through a bill to overturn protections for the Boundary Waters so a foreign mining company could cash in.

But it turns out, that was just the beginning.

Right now, the Department of Agriculture is circulating a dangerous new memo designed to open up more than 5 million acres of pristine, recommended wilderness across the country to destructive development, resource extraction, and motorized vehicles.

They are actively trying to gut the science-based protections that keep our national forests intact. If they get their way, it will be practically impossible to ever restore these areas.

This is what happens when politicians like Pete Stauber become rubber stamps for an extreme, anti-public land agenda. They manufacture a crisis, shut down local Forest Service offices, and then try to liquidate the land to their corporate buddies.

When my kids and grandkids ask if they can canoe in Minnesota without worrying about toxic runoff, or hike through the Superior National Forest without dodging extraction equipment, I want to be able to say yes.
