Friend, before I'm your Congressman, I'm your neighbor. And today, I just want to say thank you.

I live here. I shop here. I get my pizza here (and yes, I have opinions about which place is best, but I'll keep those to myself to keep the peace). But I’ve been around long enough to know that IL-06 has the kindest people, the best food, and the most legendary holiday parades in America.

I’m fortunate enough to get to represent all of it.

It's why you've probably seen me around lately at town halls, small businesses, farmer’s markets, and on the occasional chaotic parade route. Every time, someone stops me to say thanks for showing up, or shares something happening in their life, or just says hello.

Those moments are the best part of this job, and I don't take a single one for granted. So before I ask you for anything, I wanted to take a beat and say thank you.

Thank you for trusting me with this seat. Eight years in, and it still means the world to me.

I want to be out there even more. But more town halls, more block parties, more conversations across all of IL-06 takes a team, gas money, and resources. It’s the unglamorous stuff that lets us connect with voters and ultimately, win elections.
