What we are about to tell you might sound a little dystopian, but it is the truth about what the D.C. establishment and their tech-bro donors are trying to do to the American West right now.

There are plans to build a 9-square-mile data center just outside of Broadview, Montana, and the builder has requested clearance to increase its electricity usage to nearly 7,300 megawatts.

To put that into perspective: that single industrial facility would use roughly ten times as much power as all residential Montana customers combined. It will also suck up more than 5 million gallons of water every single day just to cool its servers.

And that is just one site.

There are eleven more of these massive data centers currently planned across the state. One of these industrial complexes is proposed just a few miles east of Missoula, literally on the banks of the Blackfoot River—the same pristine river Norman Maclean wrote about in A River Runs Through It. It sits just a few hundred yards from a public school.

These billionaires have essentially bought off the current administration to block any common-sense regulatory oversight for their new tech projects. They are capturing the government, funding the campaigns of weak-kneed politicians, and expecting a rubber stamp to drain our rivers and jack up our electricity costs without a second thought.

We cannot allow a handful of tech billionaires to carve up the last best place so they can run their AI models on the cheap.
