Wilkinson Street
Planned maintenance sees buses replace trams

NET trams have announced that buses will replace trams for a fortnight on a section of the network, starting later this month.

Between Sunday 26 July and Sunday 9 August, work will be carried out to replace track atĀ Wilkinson Street and Noel Street. Normal service will resume on Monday 10 August.

There will be no tram services operating between Wilkinson Street and The Forest, with a replacement bus service travelling in a loop to serve both stops.

NET have asked passengers to allow additional time for their journey. Customers who usually park in the Wilkinson Street car park are encouraged to consider using The Forest instead to minimise disruption to their journey.

Clean-up continues after diesel spillage on road

Nuthall Road2

The emergency resurfacing works following a diesel spillage in Nuthall Road last week will be completed by midnight on Sunday (12 July).

After these are finished, the pre-planned improvement works will then continue on Nuthall Road between Western Boulevard and Aspley Lane.

Further works are also scheduled for the end of August. We'll publish more information about these soon.

The type of damage from diesel spills results in unacceptably low skid resistance and can have both immediate and long-term impacts on the structural integrity of the road.

After assessing the damage in the aftermath, the council had no option but to resurface the stretch of road.

Skylink Trent Barton
Two services will no longer stop at Broad Marsh

Trentbarton is making changes to some of its bus services next month following a review of customer use and punctuality.

From Sunday 26 July, the Cotgrave and Skylink express services will no longer serve the Broad Marsh bus station. [ [link removed] ]

The operator said extensive surveying found that 90 per cent of customers leaving Nottingham use stops on Friar Lane, Beastmarket Hill or Nottingham train station, rather than the bus station.

Trentbarton said removing the bus station from these routes would also help improve punctuality by around three to five minutes.

From the same date, the Cotgrave service will run directly from Beastmarket Hill to Nottingham train station, while Skylink express will run directly from Friar Lane to the station.

There will also be minor changes throughout both timetables.

Tram bridge and lift
Lift to tram platform temporarily out of action

NET trams have reminded passengers that the Station Street lift is being replaced over the coming weeks and is now temporarily out of use.

The works will run until Friday 14 August and will see a new lift installed to take people between street level and the tram bridge above.

Alternative lifts are available inside the train station and at the car park next door - both serve the tram platform. Access via the stairs at Station Street will remain during the work.
