Year after year, it pumps millions of gallons of precious groundwater from the town to sell at an outrageous markup. And year after year, Vittel’s people watch as their water levels plummet. They’re now facing their fourth straight year of drought!

After years of pumping Vittel dry, this could finally be the moment they sound the retreat and leave this town in peace.

Nestlé has all but taken over the region, and even elected officials are afraid of speaking out against this bottling giant. Thanks to their inaction, the water level is now TEN METERS below its natural level.

But against all odds, this small group of retired volunteers is actually winning -- slowly but surely. Just last year, residents -- with the support of SumOfUs members -- flooded a public consultation and forced the government to cancel an absurd pipeline project that would have cost the town tens of millions of Euros to get their water elsewhere… just to avoid upsetting Nestlé!

But that victory came at a huge financial cost, and now just as the town inches closer to freeing itself from Nestlé’s grasp, the whole movement could go broke.
