#MakeWomenVisible

Last week we published our briefing on the impact of coronavirus on parenting ([link removed][UNIQID]) in partnership with Women's Budget Group, Queen Mary University of London and the London School of Economics. We found that 61.6% of single mothers said they had struggled to go to the shops due to their children being at home, compared with 39.1% of couple fathers. And anxiety levels are greater among mothers, with 44% reporting high anxiety compared with 33% of fathers (full briefing ([link removed][UNIQID]) ).

#CoronaConversations

Please join us our next #CoronaConversations event, which will look at the impacts of the coronavirus outbreak on women's mental health - including Fawcett and partner’s data on disabled women, single parents and Black and Asian women and women from ethnic minority backgrounds. We will explore why women’s experiences have been overlooked by decision-makers and how those in power could better understand, reflect and prioritise care and mental health when responding to the current crisis.

Date: Wednesday 9 September
Time: 18:45 - 20:00
Venue: Your home, via Zoom (you will receive the link once you book)
Accessibility: Live captioned

Sam Smethers, CEO of Fawcett, will chair the discussion with Agnes Mwakatuma, Founder of Black Minds Matter UK, Vicki Nash, Head of Policy and Campaigns at Mind, Dawn Butler, Labour MP for Brent Central, and a member of the Young Women's Trust Advisory Panel.

All profits from the sale of the mug will benefit Fawcett (available on theHoly Flaps website ([link removed][UNIQID] ) *). Pour yourself a cup of tea and say no to tone policing. #raisemytone
