Encapsulating The Contrast

The contrast between the conventions is remarkably startling.  If you remove the personalities and the production values, you remain left with two very different visions.  On the one hand you have Democrats that think “the system” is flawed and must be destroyed and replaced.  On the other hand you have Republicans that see problems to be solved within the existing system, and have a lot of potential solutions.  That is not a political contrast, that is a philosophical one and it is even a spiritual one.

Democrats think that somehow the right system will fix everything.  This became alarmingly apparent in the latest from His Majesty the Emperor, er,

Honest to Goodness…

I am going to make this short and sweet.

Here is how “News” is working right now.  During the evening’s RNC activities, there is something vaguely reminiscent of “coverage.”  You know, this happened, then this happened.  There is the expected snark and tonal derision, but by-and-large it gets the information out there.

But the next morning’s “analysis,” in a volume that is at least quadruple the “coverage,” is unbearable.  That the media is largely opposed to Republicans is a given and expected.  That’s not the issue.  It is the sheer pettiness of that so-called “analysis.”  There are extraordinarily significant matters before the nation and we are treated to discussions about anything...
