John,

For the first time in the history of the Environment Protection Agency, a truly progressive pesticide-reform bill has been introduced in Congress, and we need your help building support.

Tell your members in Congress to cosponsor the Protect America’s Children From Toxic Pesticides Act — new legislation that bans many of the most dangerous pesticides, introduces robust protections for farmworkers, and closes industry loopholes.

For 50 years a law called the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act has allowed industry to dump millions of pounds of dangerous pesticides into our environment.

That includes ones used on food and other crops — pesticides like paraquat and chlorpyrifos that are known to cause neurological damage and debilitating conditions like Parkinson's disease. That also includes pesticides like neonicotinoids that are contributing to the insect apocalypse and many other dangerous concoctions driving the extinction crisis.

Urge your elected officials to support this groundbreaking legislation. And help bring the United States up to date with the many countries that have already reined in these toxic pesticides.
