We are calling on people from all over Ireland nominate their neighbors, family, friends, colleagues and community supporters for the chance to win a Volunteer Ireland Award!
2020 has shown us that volunteering is more important than ever to our communities and now is our chance to say thank you. But we need your help!
If you know a volunteer, why not take 5 minutes and nominate them for a national award? It's quick, easy and best of all - every nominee will get a special thank you card from us!

Awards Categories
There are 12 categories in the Volunteer Ireland Awards. This year we have introduced a special COVID-19 category to recognise the extraordinary volunteering that has supported our communities throughout the pandemic.
Anyone can be nominated for a Volunteer Ireland Award, The only requirement is that they give their time voluntarily, without pay (with the exception of the Volunteer Manager category). The Volunteer Ireland Awards are open to people of all ages volunteering with volunteer involving organisations in Ireland.

National Volunteering Week
|
|
Like everyone else, we have had to adapt our way of working and how we support volunteers and organisations. While we had to postpone National Volunteering Week to next month (21st – 27th September), we are confident that it will be worth the wait!
The week will have a dual focus – thanking volunteers and organisations for everything they have done this year and encouraging us all to focus on your own health and well-being. It’s been a tough year for everyone so it’s important to make sure we’re all looking after ourselves too!
To do this – and as a way to say thank you – Volunteer Ireland will be running free virtual health and wellness events across the week. This is on top of the fantastic local events being run by Volunteer Centres, our webinar series and our annual social media campaign which will all run across the week too.
National Volunteering Week will officially launch on Monday 7th September and our events calendar will go online that day with lots of great options for everyone!
In the meantime, why not think about your own plans for National Volunteering Week? Could you run a virtual thank you event for volunteers? Maybe you could plan some social media posts sharing their stories? There are lots of resources and ideas to get you started on volunteer.ie.
