Hello John,
Sound the trumpets – have you heard the HUGE news yet? Yes! Julie has arrived at Pangea – the very first elephant rehomed at the vast new Born Free supported sanctuary in Portugal. We can scarcely believe it. This is a dream come true, and it’s thanks to YOUR kind donations ([link removed]).
The rescue of wild animals in need lies at the very heart of Born Free. It gives us all a boost! But there is much more good news to share. From saving tigers, to protecting orangutans, and an extraordinary discovery in the forests of Uganda, it’s been a wild month. Together, we’ve achieved so much.
Julie has come HOME! 🐘

“It was wonderful to see Julie arrive. The circus brought her in their truck and within minutes, she was exploring.” Said our long-term friend Kate Moore, Pangea’s Managing Director.
“She ate hay, bananas and apples, threw water and sand all over her back, and even rumbled a few times. We can now give her the life she deserves, after performing in the circus for 40 years. As we opened the gates of the barn to let her out into the enclosure, for the first time in her adult life she got to choose how she spends her day.”

Remember Cecil?

The UK still hasn’t banned the import of grotesque trophies from the barbaric ‘sport’ of trophy hunting. 11 years on – have we learnt nothing from the brutal killing of Cecil the lion? Please, stand with us against trophy hunting.
