The Hemani ruling is already doing work. GOA just sued Pennsylvania
over its lifetime carry ban [13] on behalf of an Air Force veteran
who's been denied a carry license over a single marijuana misdemeanor
from 1994. He can legally buy a handgun today, but Pennsylvania says
he can never carry it. Three weeks after the Supreme Court said the
government has to prove dangerousness, that ban is on borrowed time.
The NRA also filed a federal lawsuit against Illinois's 72-hour
waiting period [14], and FPC and SAF are asking the Supreme Court to
take down New York City's stun gun ban [15] — they're calling the
Second Circuit's ruling "Caetano 2.0" for good reason.
Two DGU stories — a Houston resident shot a suspected intruder
during a Sunday morning break-in [16], and a DA cleared an armed
victim who returned fire after a road rage suspect shot at him first
in Fayette County [17] — that's how road rage cases are supposed to
shake out when you're the one who didn't start it.
