In St. Louis, a 7-month-old infant was shot and killed. The trigger was
pulled by her 10-year-old uncle, who found an unsecured handgun hidden
under a mattress.

An infant is gone. A young boy’s life is permanently altered. A father is
facing murder and child endangerment charges. And a 7-year-old who was in
the house is left to carry the trauma of a warzone inside their own home.

This isn’t just an isolated tragedy. It’s the direct consequence of an
American epidemic — a culture that treats deadly weapons like household
items, and a powerful gun lobby that fights tooth and nail against basic,
common-sense safety laws.

We refuse to accept this as normal.

Most of the time, our community is forced to meet these moments with pure
rage. And honestly? We are tired of just being angry. We want a future
where we can breathe. We want hope.

But hope requires action.

We can build a future where kids can just be kids, and babies are safe in

standard political thoughts and prayers. We know how to fight the gun
